A conveyor-fed bottle labeller must suit the product flow.

Adding a labeller to a conveyor line is not just a case of placing a label head over a belt. The bottles need controlled spacing, stable travel, correct presentation and enough room for operators to load labels and adjust the machine.

Existing conveyor height, line direction, product accumulation and upstream filling or capping equipment can all affect the final layout. For a new line, the labelling machine can be designed around the output target from the start.

Photos and measurements of the line help avoid integration issues.

Likely machine route

  • Inline wraparound labeller for round bottles
  • Twin-side labeller for flat and oval bottles
  • Conveyor transfer and spacing control
  • Integration with filling, capping or coding equipment
  • Compact line design where floorspace is tight

Quote details to prepare

  • Conveyor height, width and direction
  • Product spacing before labelling
  • Bottle material and stability
  • Required output and line speed
  • Photos of upstream and downstream equipment

Buyer questions

Questions before choosing a bottle labeller.

Can a labeller be added to my current conveyor?

Often yes, but height, width, access, bottle spacing and controls must be checked.

Do I need a complete new conveyor?

Not always. The answer depends on the existing line and the labeller type required.

What is bottle spacing?

Spacing is the controlled gap between containers so the label head can apply accurately.

Can coding be added to the same line?

Yes, but coding position and timing should be included in the layout review.
