Bottle labelling guide
How to specify a label applicator for bottles and containers.
Turn a packaging requirement into a clear label applicator specification.
Define the label application task.
Start by describing the container, label position and number of labels per pack. A single side label, full wrap label and front/back labels are different applications even if the product is the same.
Choose the level of automation.
Manual loading into a semi-automatic unit may be right for small batches. Conveyor-fed automatic application may be right for repeat production or integration with filling and capping.
Include real production constraints.
Available space, operator access, label roll changes, coding, product changeover and cleaning requirements all affect the correct machine route.
