Bottle labelling guide

Wraparound bottle labeller setup guide.

Understand the main set-up factors for consistent wraparound label application on round bottles.

Set the bottle support and rotation.

The bottle must rotate consistently while the label is dispensed. If the bottle slips, lifts or skews, the label position can drift. Bottle diameter and surface finish both matter.

Check label length and position.

Label length should be checked against bottle circumference and desired overlap or gap. Very long labels, small bottles and tapered containers can be more demanding.

Confirm sensing and wipe-down.

The label sensor must detect each label reliably. The wipe-down should contact the label smoothly without crushing or moving the container.

Checklist before you enquire

  • Bottle diameter and height
  • Label length and height
  • Required wrap coverage
  • Roll direction and label gap
  • Sensor response with actual labels
  • Roller or belt pressure
  • Filled and empty bottle behaviour
  • Output target and acceptable tolerance
Tip: Send labelled and unlabelled samples where possible. Real containers and label rolls help confirm handling, label sensing and final application accuracy.

FAQ

Common questions.

Why does a wraparound label overlap?

The label may be too long for the bottle circumference or the start position may need adjustment.

Why does the label spiral upwards?

Taper, rotation or product support can cause the label to track incorrectly.

Can wraparound setup handle different sizes?

Yes within the machine range, but each size needs set-up and changeover.

Do clear labels change setup?

They can, especially around sensing and visual alignment.
